How to use it
On damp skin
Straight after the shower. Humectants take water from whatever's closest, so give them some.
Twice over the rough bits
Elbows, knees and heels are thicker skin. One pass isn't going to get through them.
Every day, not now and then
Rough skin softens with repetition rather than with one heavy application. Twice a day in winter.
Between a lotion and a urea cream
Body lotions rarely touch rough skin. High-strength urea creams work but can sting. This sits deliberately in the middle.

What's inside and why it's there
Thirty-four ingredients with the full INCI on this page. Dermatologically tested, gluten free, nut free and vegan, no GMO ingredients, recyclable packaging.
Hydroxyethyl Urea
A urea-derived humectant, placed high enough to matter. It draws water into rough skin the way urea does, but without the prickle that makes strong urea creams uncomfortable on skin that's already split.
Panthenol
Pro-vitamin B5, and the calming half of the formula. Rough, dry skin is usually irritated skin as well, and panthenol is the ingredient most reached for when both are true at once.
Glycerin, Sodium PCA + Hyaluronic Acid
Together with the urea derivative and panthenol, that's five water-binding ingredients doing the job in shifts rather than one doing all of it. Organic sunflower seed oil is second on the list, holding it all in.
Questions people ask before buying
Not quite, and the difference is worth understanding. Pharmacy creams generally use urea itself, often at 10% or higher, where it both hydrates and helps break down rough, built-up skin. This uses hydroxyethyl urea — a derivative that does the water-holding side without the sting. Gentler day to day, less aggressive on very thick callus.
It shouldn't, and that's rather the point of the ingredient. The tingle people report from strong urea creams on split heels or chapped hands comes from urea itself at high percentages. This formula doesn't contain it in that form.
Anywhere on the body that's dry, with a second pass over elbows, knees and heels. The skin there is thicker and takes more than one go. Keep it below the jawline — this isn't formulated for facial skin.
No. The texture comes from light esters rather than butters, so it absorbs instead of sitting on top waiting to transfer onto your clothes. Organic sunflower oil is the only real oil in it, at second on the list.
Daily, and twice a day through winter or if your skin is very rough. Dry skin responds to consistency rather than to one thick application — the difference shows up over a fortnight, not overnight.
Settling things down. It's pro-vitamin B5, and it's in here because rough skin is usually irritated skin too. At seventh on a list of thirty-four it's placed high enough to be doing something rather than appearing for the label.
Noticeably. It's built on bergamot, bitter orange and ylang ylang, giving a fresh cucumber-citrus character with green thyme behind it, and six allergens are declared as a result. A body cream covers a lot of skin, so patch test for 24 hours if scent is ever a problem for you.
We'd keep it to the body. It's formulated and fragranced for body skin, which puts up with considerably more than the skin on your face does.
Both, and it's gluten free and nut free as well. No GMO ingredients, and the packaging is recyclable.
Use it after
Shower first, this second, on skin that's still damp.
